There is always a “HOLIDAY” – birthday, Christmas, just because, etc. but we all know concerts come when the band is available – not necessarily when ‘we’ want them to… That said – here are a few ideas to overcome that…. WOW and Surprise your loved ones.
Upcoming Concerts
Be prepared for concerts that are coming – here’s how:
- Sign up with Ticketamaster for notifications
- Sing up with Songkick – its a great way to see when your band is on tour by city.
- Facebook – search the bands out – I am ‘following’ enough bands that I’m sure I have passed the legal limits…
- Join that fan club of your (your significant other or BFF) favorite band(s) – and you never know – you would win a meet and greet… now that is an awesome surprise!
Surprise ‘after’ the show:
- Of course there is always the chance to buy merch at the concert – but if you go home and think ooops I should have – well Amazon will help you find and buy the merch you wanted to get.
- Hopefully you took some pics (be sure you are both – all in the pic) and then surprise them with a mug or picture in frame…
Book Signings:
- Something really cool we have in Phoenix us a book store called “Changing Hands” (so surely they are all over). Signed up with them, and have met some of the coolest artists! I met Rick Springfield, Gene Simmons, Joe Perry this way. I got Paul Stanely’s book, but out of town at the time (they will ship the autographed copy) but meeting them is the BEST. So if you are in Phx area (technically in Tempe) check it out. You order the book, pick up at store and boom there you go with the signing. If you are good secret you can really make this a ‘special’ event… Surprise your honey – here is the performer you love and oh yeah, there is a book and a signature… they always let you take pictures too…
BTW Gene Simmons is simply hilarious in person…
