I can’t believe the cruise is over… ugh! It was so fantabulous – there are not words that can really explain how awesome this vacation was. It was more than a concert – it was an experience! We literally had 19 bands to choose from. It was 4 days of the following artists:
Joe Bonamassa, John Hiatt, Robben Ford, Ryan McGarvey, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Ana Popovich, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Simo, Steve Costello, The Record Company, Bernie Marsden, Black Pistol, and I hate to say this but I think I forgot a few bands. I’m Getting so excited I could scream… Joe Bonamassa here I come!
It’s almost time for the Blues Cruise with Joe… we set sail February 17th out of Miami and not only is this a chance to see my favorite (I know I say that about everyone I see in concert – but I mean it this time) blues/guitarist EVER. If you have never heard of him – you really do need to go directly to this link and check him out…. you will not be sorry – you will definitely love his sound…
I hope I don’t bore you all too much – it’s just hard to keep my excitement ‘at bay’ vs. rattling on like a crazy person but I already want to talk about it and it hasn’t happened yet. It’s really hard to believe how hooked I am on him. There are a lot of performers out there that put on the most incredible shows, but you really haven’t lived until you see this guy in person. I wonder how different it will be to see him on a cruise ship. We get 2 concerts – so that right there is worth it right there. Not to mention there are other blues performers on the cruise from John Hiatt, Robben Ford – the list goes on… 20 total performers – how can you beat that! Most names I’ve never heard of so it will be mostly new music – which I’m actually excited about. I toyed with listening to the other artists, but I’m looking forward to hearing totally new music. I will be back with more details as the days tick off – and even no one is reading these posts – I fell like this is my diary and I can pour my feelings out. I’ll be back!!! Ooooh Before I sign off tonight – I’m watching John Hiatt on Palladia and i just increased my excitement double… he is so purely gruffly and honest when he sings. Coo-lio!!!!
Not that anyone will read this post – but I have to say how excited 2014 was for me. So many concerts and so much awesome music. I also have discovered some incredible music that was right in front of me but had never given it a second look. The list goes on and on, but as you can see with my variety of music taste. From blues (Joe Bonamassa) to rock (KISS, Def Lepard) to jazz (Hugh Laurie)… I had the unexpected pleasure of Nils Lofgren – and amazing to me I’ve had over 1,100 folks view my youtube (please check it out) video when he played at the Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix. It was such an awesome relaxing evening and like I say – I had never heard of him, though he was right under my nose – in the Bruce Springstein band… Simply beautiful music.
Have I been under a rock??? Nils performs such a super – duper show. I actually was not sure what to expect… I knew of him playing with Bruce Springsteen and a little bit about his background. Continue reading Nils Lofgren→
Before I even give my opinion of this fellow by the name of Joe Bonamassa – I have to give a shout out to Kathy & Shadow – had they not thrown this guy my way I would have NEVER gone to see him in Denver (or the other 7 times the past 2 years) and I would have missed out on one of the BEST concert(s) of my life. I was also lucky enough to spend the evening with a handful of my friends – Sandi, Jason, Mark & Lisa (my newest friend).
What an adventure! When we decided to go on this little “summer” series of concerts I knew it would be fun, but had no clue it would be this awesome.
We would definitely recommend if you want something unique as a vacation plan – this would definitely be something to consider.
Let’s go through each band – but first we must say that ‘all’ of the bands were so awesome and worth seeing. Such a variety, but at the same time, totally and completely entertaining and just breathtaking and awesome performances. Each performance had its moments and they all took us back to yester-year as they were mostly bands from our high school (for Lynda) and grade school (for Debbie). Here goes:
