I was never able to attend an Aerosmith concert back in the day… So, I have nothing to compare to except the endless listening to Aerosmith through my youth and beyond. From the second they all stepped on sage – I actually felt young again as if it was their 1st time on stage – I’m a teen – and I’m going to my 1st concert! Steven Tyler is so inspiring, I mean he’s getting close to the magical age of 70… (a few years to go, but you know what I mean) and he still runs around on stage like he’s a youngster.
Steven wore his awesomely crazy outfits and loves to ham in up for the camera – what a fun act to see. Then there is Joe Perry! I had the privilege to meet him here in Phoenix at a book signing and I’ve always been a fan, but he was so cool to meet and so gracious – it was cool to say – hey I met him. Oh man – he can sure play the guitar – he did a blues song that was just incredible!
The rest of the band was just as awesome, but it really was the Steven Tyler-Joe Perry show! Fine by me – between the flamboyant Steven & shy (hair hanging in his face most of the show) Joe Perry, I was on Cloud 9 – the whole evening.
Listening to the old song of yester-year was like being 18 again – Toys in the Attic & Walk this Way have always been 2 of my favorite songs, but Dream On, Emotion – well the list went on was incredible… Not that is was a disappointment – I wish they would have played a full 2 hours – they could have done 2 or 3 more songs, but – well – let’s face it, we aren’t spring chickens anymore!
Rock on Aerosmith – and I sure hope you have a few more years of touring in you all – cause I’m in for sure!!!!!
