I can’t believe the cruise is over… ugh! It was so fantabulous – there are not words that can really explain how awesome this vacation was. It was more than a concert – it was an experience! We literally had 19 bands to choose from. It was 4 days of the following artists:
Joe Bonamassa, John Hiatt, Robben Ford, Ryan McGarvey, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Ana Popovich, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Simo, Steve Costello, The Record Company, Bernie Marsden, Black Pistol, and I hate to say this but I think I forgot a few bands.
I could literally go on for ever about how awesome this experience was (we are already signed up for next year – Feb 14 – 19th 2016! It’s a must see if you are a blues lover in any way, shape or form. Joe Bonamassa is probably the BEST blues guitarist/singer I’ve ever heard – but I gotta tell you the other bands were extremely awesome. It was cool, because there was a mixture of a few older dudes from back in the day – John Hiatt & Robben Ford (he sang a few songs from his new album that will be out in March, you have to pick it up, he still has it! Then to top it off there were some new guys like Ryan McGarvey (you simply have got to check this guy out – truly a treasure in the making). Except for Joe Bonamassa – it is really hard to narrow it down to my favorites, it was non-stop concerts in different venues on the Norwegian Pearl ship – so the venues were all within a few levels… It was a lot of running around and concert hopping, but totally worth every penny! Like an ala carte of blues music. One of the best surprises was he played in basically 4 concerts with the finale concert where he brought up some of the performers to jam with him. And oh yeah there was the Rock Candy Funk Party band – instrumental that was to die for. You can actually pick up the rock Candy Funk Party DVD at the Iridium recorded in NY a few years back… very very cool. Bottom line – if you have never heard of Joe Bonamassa – well you simply have to check him out… You will be blown away. If you truly are a blues fan you have to at least consider climbing on board the Norwegian Pearl next February – you will not regret it – promise!!!
