Super awesome to see 2 friends that had never really experienced country music and for those of you that know I’m talking about – Country music (Keith in particular) is the best way to get exercise! I think I have her ‘hooked’ on some county – she is definitely in love with Keith (like I am) – yummy were her exact words. I’ve yet to see any country concert where I sat and Keith was no exception. It was a pleasure to see my 2 friends respond to the experience – from the second Keith got out on the stage it was non-stop incredible fun!!! I’m trying to figure out the best way to explain the great time we had. It was an energy that you will only “know” if you have attended Keith’s concert. He actually sang non-stop for over 2 hours and performed a total of 26 songs (that’s not a typo) – twenty six songs… ALL with the emotions and energy he is known for. His guitar playing is bar-none. My friends were totally blown away – I know how great he is, so the performance did not surprise me, but the # of songs did – he just didn’t stop! I’m telling ya if Keith is ever in your neck of the woods you simply can’t miss out.
There were a few songs that Keith did that frankly blew us away – actually all of the songs were awesome – but his ‘Raise em Up’ where he actually sang with another singer – they were not there, but instead was on the ‘jumbotron’ and Keith sang along with him. It was an awesome song and an awesome performance – I hope to find it on Youtube. Oh my gosh – I Want to Cry was one of my favorite songs of the night too…
He came out onto a platform where he sang 3 songs – and get this – he actually autographed a guitar and simply handed it over to a fan… No kidding – he was so sincerely sweet the entire concert. Made it very fun – had a fan go up on the stage and had some fun joking around with them. Most generously thanking all of us for attending and thrilled that we all decided to attend his concert over others know how tight money is for everyone. Once his encore (6 songs, what???) was done (again 26 songs total) he stayed behind shaking everyone’s hand at the stage – it was at least another 5 minutes of autographing, hugging, shaking hands to all in the front rows. He was one of the most gracious artists I’ve had the pleasure of attending I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed the concert.
Then there were the opening bands – I have to be honest I was not familiar with either of them, but as usual in the country music world, they were truly great. Jerrod Niemann was really a ton of fun – and like I say – though I was not familiar with his music – I can’t wait to hear more. One of the funniest and most entertaining lyrics is a song he did called The Donkey Song – hilarious!!! You really have to see it to believe it. He is also actually launching his own headlining tour October 24th – he really did impress me so you never know – he might be added to my ‘must see’ list. I will need to pick up a few of his CD’s to see what I think – but so far so good on seeing him in his own show!
