I mean they had the photo-police out there watching every single person. Now, to a certain extent I really do understand how the flashes and the distraction can take aware from an acoustically mellow/perfectly performed show where cameras (even the ones on cell phones can be distracting) BUT an this is a big BUT – why not end the show with a song where they can say ‘go for it’ and take as many pictures as you want OR at least say – ok shows over now take photos for 5 minutes. It wouldn’t have killed them and I think people would have respected that… I actually followed the rules (we sort of – as you can see I posted a few photos at the end) – but for those offenders during the show it was very distracting when the ‘photo police’ scooted into each row blocking my view of the stage to reprimand others around me. That was terrible… Ugh!!!!
Okay, I’ve vented – I would love to be on a concert committee to help performers tweak the rules to fit the audience w/o taking away from the attendee’s experience. I mean, the seats we got were over $200 and for that much money – I expect to take something home to remember the show by.
Let’s get to the good stuff – the music was bar none – bringing back memories that I hadn’t thought about since they actually occurred and one day (today) became a memory. I balled my eyes out when Tim sang I Can’t tell you Why – it was my mother’s favorite song – from a DVD they got with their new TV one day (back years ago) – mom as since then passed away so that song will always be a tear jerker for me. For my mom to simply love this ‘long haired hippie’ song – puts a smile on my face and a tear to my eye. (again, those memories that stay with you forever)
Who knows how long they will tour – well I would go again – IF I knew I could take pictures… if not, I have to admit I would think twice… I know – I’m back at the photo issue… Oh well, if this turns out to be the only time I get to see them, well I will call it a good life! I got to see them and that’s what matters. All I have to say is Joe Walsh and you will hopefully think – OMG this guy can still get on stage, do the darndest things and still get a laugh – and oh yeah, play the heck out of the guitar…. One of the highlights because I didn’t think they would do their ‘own’ songs was when Joe did Rocky Mountain Way…. Yippee!!! Icing on the cake… topped off with ‘all’ of the Eagles songs we have known to grow and love.
Bottom line – a great show and though I probably won’t see them again – I can check it off my ‘bucket list’.
